Durable Medical Equipment (DME) includes medically necessary devices that support healing, protect an injury, and help you move more safely and comfortably. At Atlantis Orthopaedics, many patients can receive DME on-site, so you don’t have to make extra trips to get the brace or support your provider recommends.
DME may include a variety of supports used for orthopedic injuries, arthritis, post-op protection, or instability, such as:
Wrist braces
Knee immobilizers
CAM walkers (walking boots)
Ankle braces
Back braces
Cervical collars
Your provider will recommend the most appropriate option based on your diagnosis and activity level.
In most cases, your orthopedic provider will prescribe or recommend the appropriate equipment during your visit.
